This is an excellent swarm of fossil insects from Russia. There are seven Fungus Gnats (Mycetophilidae) in the amber piece. The gnats all have good detail. They are nicely spaced in the amber piece. The amber nugget itself has beautiful natural banding. This is a great swarm of fossil insects trapped in amber (close-up photo is included).
