This is an excellent insect in amber. It is a large Ant (Hymenoptera) in Baltic Amber. This specimen is a very fine example of a fossilized ant. All six legs are well preserved, and the long antennae are even intact. The large ant is easily seen in the beautiful honey-colored amber piece. This is a super example of an ant trapped in Baltic Amber (close-up photo is included for free).
