This is an unusual insect in Baltic Amber. It is a large Winged Ant (Hymenoptera) from Russia. This insect is so large, it almost takes up the entire piece of amber! The detail is very nice and the wings are spread wide. This is a very collectible insect trapped in amber (close-up photo is included for free).
