This is a very unusual insect in Baltic Amber. It is an Eocene Wasp (Hymenoptera) from Russia. This specimen has amazing detail. The wings, legs, and antennae display beautifully. And the stinger is EASILY seen protruding from the abdomen of the wasp. This is a top quality example of a fossil wasp in amber (close-up photo is included for free).
