Name:
Moth (Lepidoptera)
Age: Eocene
Formation: Amber Deposits
Location: Baltic Coast, Lithuania
Size: Amber piece is 0.83 inches across
This is an extremely nice example of an unusual insect. It is a complete Moth (Lepidoptera) trapped in Baltic Amber. This specimen has fabulous detail preserved - the legs, wings, and LONG antennea are still intact and easily seen. The large wings are preserved in an aesthetic ''spread open'' pose, making for a wonderful display. And the entire Moth is easily seen trapped in the amber piece. This is an especially fine example of a fossil Moth in amber from the Baltic Coast of Russia
