This is a nice pair of insects trapped in Baltic Amber. These are large Long-Legged Flies (Dolichopodidae) from Lithuania. Both flies have incredible detail - you can even see the hairs on their backs and their huge eyes! The flies are beautifully preserved, and the poses are in the classic "flying" position. The flies are easily seen in the large amber piece, along with some cool bubbles. This is a fabulous pair of insects entombed in ancient fossil ooze.
