Very Detailed True Midge Trapped in Baltic Amber

This is a nice fossil fly in amber. It is a True Midge (Chironomidae) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. The insect exhibits very fine detail. The head, body, wings, and long legs are all present. The insect displays well in the honey-colored piece of amber - it can be seen with the naked eye. This is a fine specimen of a distinct True Midge trapped in fossil ''ooze''.
