Large Long-Legged Fly Trapped in Baltic Amber

This is a very distinct insect in Baltic Amber. It is a Long-Legged Fly (Dolichopodidae) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This specimen has very good detail preserved. The fly is beautifully intact, and the pose is the classic ''flying'' position. The specimen is easily seen in the amber piece. This is a fine insect trapped in fossil amber.
