This is an uncommon insect in Baltic Amber. It is a large Scuttle Fly (Phoridae) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This insect is beautifully posed in the ''flying'' position. The detail of the insect is just incredible. The head, body, legs, and wings of the insect are wonderfully exhibited. The very large compound eyes are beautifully displayed. The insect is easily seen in the golden piece of fossil ''ooze''. This is a very detailed example of this unusual insect.
