This is a rare fossil fly. It is a nice Fairy Fly from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This type is uncommon in the fossil record. The insect displays the head, body, and legs quite nicely. Both segmented antennae are easily seen. The whispy wings are also preserved. This is a very nice specimen of an unusual fly trapped in ''fossil ooze''.
