Nice Long-Legged Fly Trapped in Baltic Amber

This is a very nice insect in Baltic Amber. It is a Long-Legged Fly (Dolichopodidae) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This specimen has very good detail preserved - the compound eye is easily seen. The fly is beautifully intact, and the pose is the classic ''flying'' position. The specimen is seen trapped in the amber piece. This is a fine insect preserved in fossil amber.
