Here is an excellent Spider (Araneae) preserved in Baltic Amber from the Eocene of Russia. This large nugget of fossilized tree resin has been highly polished on all sides for optimal display. The spider is beautifully preserved and exhibits wonderful detail - both the top and bottom of the spider can be seen. The spider is easily seen trapped within the large amber piece. This is a very fine example of a spider entombed in fossilized tree resin.
