This is an unusual fossil insect in amber. It is a fabulous Humpbacked Fly (Phoridae) from the Baltic Coast of Poland. This specimen has great detail preserved, especially on the hairs on the back and HUGE compound eyes. The large fly was preserved in the classic flying pose and is easily seen trapped within the amber piece. This is a top quality example of a Humpbacked Fly entombed in Baltic Amber
