This is a very nice fossilized ant in amber. It is a Worker Ant (Hymenoptera) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. Ants are rarer finds in amber than you may think. This specimen has nice detail - head, body, and legs are well preserved. Even the ''pincher jaws'' are easily seen. The ant is nicely showcased in the small, jewelry-sized amber piece. This is a very distinct Worker Ant trapped in a nice jewelry center stone.
