Large Worker Ant Trapped in Baltic Amber
Stock Number  ACBAN901
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Worker Ant (Hymenoptera)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Amber Deposits
Location:  Poland
Size:  Amber piece is 0.5 inches long

This is a very nice fossilized ant in amber. It is a Worker Ant (Hymenoptera) from the Baltic Coast of Poland. Ants are rarer finds in Baltic Amber than you may think. This specimen has nice detail - head, body, and legs are well preserved. Even the segmented antennae are easily seen. The ant is nicely showcased in the honey-colored amber piece. This is a very distinct Worker Ant trapped in ''fossil ooze''.
