Excellent Bark Louse and Fungus Gnat in Amber

Location:  Baltic Coast, Russia
Size:  Amber piece is 1.2 inches long

This is an unusual pair of insects in Baltic Amber. There is a Bark Louse (Psocoptera) and Fungus Gnat trapped in the Baltic Amber piece. Both specimens display great detail, showing the legs, wings, and antennae. The distinct insects are easily seen in the large amber piece. This is a very interesting and beautiful pair of insects trapped in fossil ooze.
