This is an excellent insect in Baltic Amber. It is a large Long-Legged Fly from Russia. This specimen has incredible detail - you can even see the hairs on its back! The fly is beautifully preserved, and the pose is the classic "flying" position. The fly is trapped in an extremely large amber piece. This is a fabulous insect entombed in ancient fossil ooze (large close-up photo is included for free).
