This is a detailed fly in Baltic Amber. It is a Sand Fly (Psychodidae) from Russia. This specimen has great detail, displaying the wings, legs, and antennae very well. The fly is nicely positioned in the honey-colored amber piece. This is a nice example of a Sand Fly trapped in Baltic Amber (close-up photo in included for free).
