Here is an excellent Spider (Araneae) preserved in Baltic Amber from the Eocene of Russia. The spider is beautifully preserved and exhibits wonderful detail - the head, body, and long legs of the spider are clearly defined. This nugget of fossilized tree resin has been highly polished on all sides for optimal display. This is a very fine example of a spider trapped in fossilized tree resin (large close-up photo included for free).
