EXTINCTIONS CHOICE - Superb Millipede in Amber
Stock Number  ACDMI08
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Millipede (Diplopoda)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Amber Mines
Location:  Dominican Republic
Size:  Amber piece is 0.6 inches long

This is an excellent Myriapoda Millipede (Diplopoda) trapped in Dominican Amber. Millipedes differ from Centipedes in that they have two pairs of legs on each body segment - Centipedes only have one pair. The large Millipede in this piece is fabulous and has incredible detail. The many legs are easily seen, and the outer shell casing is beautifully preserved. The Millipede is easily seen within the polished amber piece. This is an outstanding fossil Millipede from the Amber Mines of the Dominican Republic (small close-up photo is included for free).
