This is a rare amber fossil. It is a Moth preserved in Dominican Amber. This specimen is extremely collectible in that the Moth is laying eggs! This is a very rare occurence in the fossil record. There are at least seven intact eggs just deposited by the female Moth. They are easily seen at the tail end if the Moth (see close-up photo #2). The Moth itself has fabulous detail preserved - just look at those antennae! This is a very unusual amber fossil that tells a unique story (small close-up photo is included for free).
