This is a very unusual insect association in Baltic Amber. It is a large Aphid (Homoptera) and Long-Legged Fly from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This Aphid has great detail - the antennae, head, legs, and body are all well displayed. The long feeding appendage is still intact and nicely showcased. The Long-Legged Fly is large and also has nice detail preserved. The insects are easily seen trapped within the amber nugget. This is a very detailed example of these uncommon insects in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo is included for free).
