This is an excellent insect in Baltic Amber. It is a beautiful Long-Legged Fly (Dolichopodidae) from Russia. This specimen has GREAT detail - you can even see the hairs on its back and the barbs on its legs! The venation of the gossamer wings displays beautifully! The fly is easily seen trapped within the goldan amber nugget. This is a very displayable insect trapped in fossil ooze (large close-up photo is included free).
