Size:  Amber piece is 1.3 inches long!

This is a very unusual insect. It is a Rare True Bug- Isometopinae - trapped in Dominican Amber. This type is very rare - this is only the second specimen of this type we have seen. The HUGE bug has nice detail - the distinct wing pattern is beautifully displayed. The large bug is easily seen trapped within the large amber piece that also contains SIX Ture Midges and a Biting Midge! This is a very collectible amber fossil from the Dominican Republic (small close-up photo is included for free).
