This is an excellent Cranefly fossil. It is clear piece of Dominican Amber with a nearly perfect Cranefly (Tipulidae) preserved! This specimen is textbook - the detail is amazing. Note that all six LONG legs are intact and beautifully positioned in the amber - a fabulous display pose. The head and body are also extremely detailed. And the wings show incredible venation still preserved! All these features combine to make this a unique, museum quality amber fossil. It is one of the best quality insects in amber we have ever had (small close-up photo is included for free).
