Here is an excellent Spider (Araneae) preserved in Baltic Amber from the Eocene of Russia. This large nugget of fossilized tree resin has been highly polished on all sides for optimal display. The spider is beautifully preserved and exhibits wonderful detail - the head, body, and LONG legs of the spider are clearly defined. The spider is easily seen trapped within the honey-colored amber piece. This is a very fine example of a Spider preserved in fossilized tree resin (large close-up photo is included for free).
