Detailed Beetle Trapped in Baltic Amber
Stock Number  A805053

Name:   Beetle (Coleoptera)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Amber Deposits
Location:  Baltic Coast, Russia
Size:  Amber piece is 0.7 inches across

This is an excellent specimen of an insect entombed in Baltic Amber. It is a large Beetle (Coleoptera) from the Eocene Deposits of Russia. The piece of fossilized tree resin has been highly polished on all sides to reveal the fine detail of the insect inclusion. The Beetle is very nice - the reticulated wing covers and legs are easily seen. The bug has great color and contrast and is beautifully showcased in the light-colored nugget of amber. This is a remarkably distinct insect preserved forever in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo is included for free).
