This is a very detailed insect in Dominican Amber. It is a large Moth Fly (Psychodidae) from the Dominican Republic. This specimen has very nice detail, displaying the wings, legs, and antennae beautifully. The fly is nicely positioned and easily seen in the cognac-colored amber piece. This is a fine example of a fly trapped in ''fossil ooze'' (small close-up photo in included for free).
