This is a very nice fossilized ant in amber. It is a Worker Ant (Hymenoptera) from the Dominican Republic. This specimen has nice detail - head, body, and legs are well preserved. Under magnification, the ant is EASILY seen in the cognac-colored amber piece. This is a very distinct Worker Ant trapped in ''fossil ooze'' (small close-up photo is included for free).
