This is an unusual fossil insect in amber. It is a large Humpbacked Fly (Phoridae) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This specimen has great detail - minure hairs are even preserved. The large fly is easily seen trapped within the amber piece. This is a very nice example of a Humpbacked Fly in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo is included for free.)
