This is a very unusual insect in Baltic Amber. It is a wasp (Hymenoptera) from Russia. Wasps are very uncommon in Baltic Amber and usually display poorly. This specimen exhibits excellent detail. The head, body, legs, and transparent wings are present. The segmented antennae make for an interesting display. The wasp is nicely centered and easily seen in the large piece of amber. This is a wonderful fossil wasp in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo will be included for free).
