Nice Beetle with Reticulated Wing Coverings
Stock Number  ACBBE09
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Beetle (Coleoptera)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Amber Deposits
Location:  Baltic Coast, Russia
Size:  Amber piece is 0.8 inch long

This is an excellent fossil beetle. It is similar to a modern Potato Beetle (Coleoptera) that was trapped in Russian Amber. This beetle has great detail on the wing coverings - you can even see the surface reticulation detail and color variations! The beetle is nicely centered and easily seen trapped in the piece of amber. This is a fine specimen of a Beetle entombed in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo is included for free).
