Name:
Spider (Araneae)
Age: Oligocene
Formation: Amber Mines
Location: Dominican Republic
Size: Amber piece is 0.5 inches long
This is a very nice arachnid in amber. It is a fossilized Spider (Araneae) from the Dominican Republic. This specimen has very nice detail. The long legs are mainly pointed forward in the ''striking'' position. The spider is easily seen trapped within the golden amber piece. This is an excellent Spider entombed forever in ''fossil ooze'' (small close-up photo is included for free).
