This is an unusual insect in Baltic Amber. It is a large Aphid (Homoptera) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This Aphid has great detail - the antennae, head, legs, and body are all well displayed. The long feeding appendage is still intact and nicely showcased. The aphid is easily seen trapped within the amber nugget. This is a very detailed example of this uncommon insect in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo is included for free).
