This is an excellent insect in amber. It is a Beetle (Coleoptera) from the Dominican Republic. This specimen is complete and has great detail. The legs are extended making for a nice display. The beetle is easily seen in the honey-colored amber piece. There are also other insects trapped in the amber nugget. This is a very fine example of a fossilized beetle in amber (small close-up photo is included for free).
