Name:
Moth (Lepidoptera)
Age: Eocene
Formation: Amber Deposits
Location: Baltic Coast, Russia
Size: Amber piece is 0.55 inches long
This is a nice example of an unusual insect. It is a complete Moth (Lepidoptera) trapped in Baltic Amber. This specimen has good detail - the head, body, legs, and wings are still intact. The wings are preserved in a ''spread open'' pose, making for a wonderful display. And the Moth is easily seen in the amber piece. This is a fine example of a fossil moth in amber from the Baltic Coast of Russia (small close-up photo is included for free).
