This is a very nice arachnid in amber. It is a large Spider (Araneae) from the famous Amber Mines of the Dominican Republic. This specimen exhibits wonderful detail - the legs of the spider are quite distinct, and the web spinning appendages are nicely showcased. The spider is easily seen in the large, honey-colored amber piece. This is an excellent fossil Spider entombed forever in ''fossil ooze'' (small close-up photo is included for free).
