This is a very unusual fossil beetle. It is a Horseshoe Crab Beetle (Limuloididae) trapped in Dominican Amber. One look at this beetle and one can see how it got its name! It was preserved with a large Biting Midge (Ceratopogonidae) that also has excellent detail.
