Name:
Bethylid Wasp and Bubbles
Age: Oligocene
Formation: Amber Mines
Location: Dominican Republic
Size: Amber piece is 0.6 inches long
This is a very nice wasp in amber. There is a Bethylid Wasp (Hymenoptera) trapped in this amber piece. This type of wasp is very sleek and has nice detail. The wasp is well centered and easily seen in the bubble-filled amber nugget. This is a fine example of this unusual wasp in Dominican Amber (small close-up photo is included for free).
