This is a very well-known type of insect trapped in amber. It is a very nice Cricket from the Dominican Republic. The cricket is easily seen in the cognac-colored piece of amber. This is a wonderfully preserved example of a fossilized cricket from the Dominican Republic (two small close-up photos are included for free).
