Size: Piece of amber is 0.75 inches long
This is an excellent piece of amber from the Oligocene of the Dominican Republic. There are two Gall Midges (Cecidomyiidae), a Spider (Araneae), a Caddisfly (Trichoptera), and an Elongate Springtail wonderfully preserved in the amber nugget. The amber has been highly polished on all sides to reveal the fine detail of the insect inclusions. The insects are easily seen in the rectangular block of fossil ''ooze''. This is a very collectible piece of amber with many insects (two close-up photos included for free).
