Rare Moth In Dominican Amber

This is a very rare insect in amber. It is a Moth (Lepidoptera) from the Oligocene of the Dominican Republic. The insect exhibits great detail and is wonderfully preserved. The head, body, legs, and wings of the insect are beautifully displayed. The large Moth can be easily seen in the amber piece with the naked eye. This is a good example of a fossil Moth in a piece of Dominican Amber (close-up photo of Moth is included for free).
