Name:
Cricket in Amber
Age: Oligocene
Formation: Amber Mines
Location: Dominican Republic
Size: Amber piece is 0.9 inches long
This is a very unusual insect in amber. It is a very nice Cricket trapped in Dominican Amber. This specimen is extremely detailed - the long, segmented antennae are intact, and the LONG hind legs are beautifully showcased. Even the spikes on the tail have the bristles preserved! The cricket is easily seen in the cognac-colored piece of amber. This is a wonderfully preserved example of a fossilized cricket from the Dominican Republic (small close-up photo is included for free).
