This is a beautiful insect in amber. It is a Fungus Gnat (Mycetiphilidae) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This specimen is incredibly well-preserved in the amber. Each tiny feature is nicely showcased. The antennae are easily seen, and the legs and wings display incredibly well! Also, the Fungus Gnat is easy to see within the clear amber piece. This is a fabulous insect trapped in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo is included for free).
