This is an amazing amber fossil. It is a very large spider (Araneae) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This specimen has great detail. The long legs are intact and display beautifully - the hairs on the legs are even preserved. The spider is easily seen in the HUGE amber piece - it is a full two inches long! There are also at least three other insects caught in the amber. This is a fabulous spider trapped in a mega piece of Baltic Amber (close-up photo is included for free).
