This is a finely detailed specimen of a Dark Winged Fungus Gnat (Sciaridae) entrapped in Baltic Amber. The insect displays the head, body, legs, and wings quite nicely. Both antennae are easily seen. The venation of the wings is prominent. And the long legs are beautifully showcased. This is a very nice specimen of a Fungus Gnat preserved in Dominican Amber.
