Scuttle Fly

Location: Dominican Republic
Size: Amber piece is 0.6 inches long
This is a very nice fly trapped in amber. It is a Scuttle Fly from the Dominican Republic. This specimen has great detail on all parts of the fly. There seems to be some sort of halo preserved around the bug. The fly is easily seen in the beautiful amber piece, surrounded by a small complement of bubbles. This is a fine fossil fly with excellent detail (small close-up photo is included for free).
