Very Nice Parasitic Mite with Aphid and Fly

Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Amber Deposits
Location:  Baltic Coast, Russia
Size:  Amber piece is 1.15 inches long

This is an excellent Parasitic Mite (Acari) in Baltic Amber. This piece is from the Eocene Amber Deposits of Russia. This specimen has great detail - the long appendages are very easily seen. There is also an Aphid and a Fly trapped in the amber piece (not pictured). This is a very interesting group of organisms to be fossilized together in Baltic Amber (large close-up photo is included for free).
