This is a beautiful fossil fly. It is a complete March Fly from the Dominican Republic. March flies are rarely preserved in amber. This specimen is LARGE - easily seen in the amber piece. The fly was trapped with the wings open in a textbook pose. And the overall detail of this specimen is amazing. This is an extremely collectible example of a rare March Fly entombed in Dominican Amber (small close-up photo is included for free).
