This is an awesome insect in amber. It is a Male Winged Ant (Hymenoptera; Formicidae) from the Dominican Republic. This specimen is complete and has great detail. The legs, wings, and antennae are extended, making for an aesthetic display. The ant is EASILY seen in the honey-colored amber piece. This is a beautiful example of a Winged Ant in fossil amber (small close-up photo is included for free).
